• I have a fatal error trying to log in to wp-admin: “Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘./wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/solahug8/public_html/forensicsciencecareer.net/wp-admin/index.php on line 17 “

The site is up and I can reach it via FTP. Two questions since the assistance replies to my prior post did not work:
    1) do you think re-installing WP will create the needed file?
    2) what are the crucial files to save (change to .old and back) via FTP so I don’t lose the content and setup?

    Thanks in advance… :]

  • 1) do you think re-installing WP will create the needed file?

You could try a manual install.

Or you could download a fresh copy of WP (assuming you’re already running 3.1) and first try re-uploading just wp-blog-header.php and see if that fixes it.

    2) what are the crucial files to save (change to .old and back) via FTP so I don’t lose the content and setup?

    wp-config.php
    Entire wp-content folder
    .htaccess

More details here about how to upgrade/install, and what to back up and save.

Thank you, I did not have the chance to install 3.1 before this happened. Would the blog-header file have code that would not work with a prior version?

Tanx for the link as well… ??

I’m not sure, but you could find the archived version you are running and grab the wp-blog-header.php from there:
