• After Fantastico has installed WP if for some reason you misplace your config file – or it is hacked – where would you locate the original db pw please?

  • as far as I remember, the password for the program will be stored in where the config file it uses is stored. if you wanted to change it you’d do it via the wp admin panel or via phpmyadmin

    if you double back to your root dir, you will find a folder called .fantasticodata

    The information contained within is limited:

    <?
    $thisdb = "accountname_dbusername"; $thisdomain = "yourdomain.;net"; $thisscriptpath = "/the/path/to/your/root/install/dir"; ?>

    You could always add a htaccess password to your login area I suppose

    No detail on the pw in there. I have changed the user admin pw but I cant get the config to run.

    and it’s not in wp-config.php? Though checking your site, I note you’re converting:) Would be interesting to see what your experience is with the other tools
