• I discovered after the WP3.1 update that Paste from Word is no longer removing the MSO-code when pasting copy using IE8. Safari for PC and MAC and Firefox are working fine.

Anyone else have this problem? I’m using IE8.0.7600.16385, WP3.1, TinyMCE 3.3.9.1.

  • Pasting from Word is such a bad, bad, bad idea…

Not when it’s been working for many years. The Paste from Word function strips all the MSO code from the copy. And seeing that my clients compose in Word, I have no choice.

Again, this worked fine from WP 2.6 through WP 3.0. And, why is it that only IE8 seems to be experiencing this problem and not FF or Safari.

yup having this problem also, I copy from word, paste into the ‘paste from word’ area and it being all the word styling with it. It used to work fine

Oh no it doesn’t. I’ve never seen a Word-cleaner script do this 100% effectively all of the time. And I’ve tried quite a few in the past and talked to some of the developers involved in trying to create them. Don’t paste content from Microsoft Word into WordPress as the pasted text will also contain Word’s own formatting. Sooner or later, this formatting will stop your pages from being displayed correctly (if at all) in Internet Explorer. If you cannot possibly manage without Word, paste your text into NotePad (or another text editor) first, then copy from NotePad into WordPress.

    Or use Windows LiveWriter.

just installed tiny Mc advance and it did the trick
