WordPress on a sub-domain
-
Hi,
I’m currently building a WP based site for a client and it includes a blog. Everything with the client’s site was fine (the other static pages were working properly) until I tried to build the blog. By the way, for testing purposes I have put the website on a sub-domain with a different DB, log-in etc.
What has happened is that somehow the DIV strcture (and one line of header text too) in the blog page template used on my own WP site has now found its way onto the client’s. I can see this when I view the source code in a browser/FireBug. This is despite the page template I made for the client actually having a totally different structure.
Somehow, the sidebar I have created for my client’s blog actually works just fine and other elements of the client’s CSS are pulling in too. So I think it’s specifically to do with the page.php template but I have no idea what or how to overcome this. I’ve been trying to quite a bit now.
I do not have my client’s server to test because she’s in the process of switching hosting.
If anyone knows what’s going on, I’d really appreciate any advice or knowledge you may be able to send my way. Thanks very much!
