Importing 2 Blogger blogs in 1 WP blog

    Hi,

    I have been using WP for a while, but am about to undertake something I have not done before. I want to import Two blogs from Blogger.com into one WP blog, but on two different “pages”.

    I will be loading all new blog software, and have all the rights I need on CPanel on my server.

    So, basically my sitemap might look something like this:

    – Home / About
    – Mandi’s blog 1
    – Mandi’s blog 2 (password protected)
    – Contact

    or something…

    I want to be able to import all posts and comments from the old blogs, and also be able to edit them and add to them, all under the one admin login.

    Also, one of the old blogs is for family stuff, and we want it to remain password protected.

    Is this easy enough?

    What about if I want to start a third blog down the track, all within the same URL?

  • Perhaps you should consider a MultiSite installation. You could have the main site link to the other blogs in their appropriate subdirectory. You could also import each blog within it’s own WordPress site. Everything would be under one admin login, you would only have to switch between sites in MultiSite to manage it.

    The second option sounds appealing – I have html / php / css knowledge, so I am assuming I can just change the links in the pages menu to new directories.

    I’m not sure though, if I load multiple WP sites, how these could have the same admin login?

    This is what I ultimately want – logging in once and having the ability to edit any of the blogs…

    Yes, that’s what you can do with WordPress. It would be exactly like running multiple blogs with one master control ?? like running your very own version of wordpress.com

    Possibly. It is definitely harder than regular WP, so you will need to either be able to pick up some server skills or be willing to hire someone if things get hard.
