New page help!

    I’m new to wordpress. I created a couple of pages and posted an image on one. However, whatever I posted to did not exist in the dashboard. Under pages there were the dummy pages that i created using the twentyten theme, but not one with the image that i posted was the This Just In! 3.4 theme. I then went to posts in the dashboard to which the page existed. I’m a bit miffed by this….

    Also when I create pages new tabs don’t appear just the home tab.

    Any help with this would be much appreciated

    Not being in there, I can only guess. A frequent beginner error is to forget to actually “Publish” the Page or Post. If you’re lucky, a draft will automatically be saved, and that can still be published, using the “Publish” button. If not, you’re stuck making the page again.

    Also, many themes, especially older ones, may not automatically add new Pages to the main menu or any menu. IMO, almost any quality theme should be doing that nowadays, and I wouldn’t even go near one that didn’t have any menu awareness, so to speak.

    With many free themes, you’re definitely getting what you paid for.
