I want to put navigation links on the bottom of a site. I want to do it as easily as possible. I am using a Child theme of Twenty Ten.

I thought the simplest way was to use a text widget with html link. However, I can’t get it to go all the way across the bottom. Can’t figure out where on the style sheet I can edit this.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Take a look here at the bottom footer to see what I have so far:

    Thanks all.

  • Add a second sidebar to the footer area?

    How do I do that?

Actually…I don’t want another side bar…I want the navigation to be exactly where it is in the footer…I just want it to extend across horizontally and not wrap to 3 lines. I thought somewhere in the style sheet I could state a size but I haven’t been able to get it to do it:-(

If the theme does not support footer sidebar (which then you can just add a menu to it, no html), you can always create an html table in your footer file.

This will ensure a horizontal navigation

A second sidebar can be styled in any way that you want – vertically or horizontally. If you;re really canny, you can even replicate a sidebar that’s elsewhere on the page and display it in a completely different manner.

In WP parlance, “sidebar” just refers to a (usually) widget-aware area of your pages that is often (but not always) used for navigation and has its own template file.

Thanks, I will have to mull this over a bit because I am not a coder and not at all sure how to do this.

Well I don’t think I know enough about php to edit or create a new widget ?? I watched a few videos on You Tube and I am not there yet. However, I did create an html table and that is working. I can’t quite get the spacing of the links yet..but I will work on that.

    Thanks to all of you:-)
