After 3.1, always redirect to the "Global Dashboard".

Same problem here. I can’t even get into the main admin.

@@ I have two different domain names on Bluehost, both upgrade to 3.1, only one is always redirect to the Global Dashboard, but the other is working good…..

I can’ t find any different setting between those two domain…..

Have you tried deactivating the plugins and switching the theme? Have you double-checked your .htaccess code?

In my case, I have no access to the administrator menu at all. ADMIN comes up with Subscriber rights.

I guess my problem is a bit different. I got no error messages. When logging back in as Admin the title says “Global Dashboard” and all I get is the dashboard icon, with no menu under it, and the Profile menu, which is OK. I tried my backup Admin but had the same problem.

So, I can’t even get in far enough to change anything.

for some reason you are logging in as a user and not as admin the only way to check that is in database if you are familiar with database. you will looking in wp_users and see who is admin.

Ok…GOT IT!! I deactivated ALL the plugins and everything came back. I followed these instructions:

All I have to do now is figure out which one (which combination) is the problem.

suppose I should deactivating all the plugins before upgrade
