  • Hello,

    Fantastic little patch you’ve created.

It helped me finish a front-end submission form between gravity forms and events calendar pro.

    Here are a couple suggestions:

    1. Use of other form objects such as checkboxes (for multiple selection) and single-line text fields (values separated by comma?)
    2. Use of multiple drop-downs for the same taxonomy – such as “Select First Category and Select Second Category.” Perhaps the values can be added to the single array? (or is it a table relationship?)
    3. Hierarchy within the drop-down – I’ve notice my hierarchy was removed and the terms were reorganized alphabetically
    4. The ability to selectively hide certain categories (as can be seen in the “Category” form object in GF.

I’ll be debugging the next few days so I’ll try and provide more feedback.

    Hi Anthony

Thanks for the feedback and I really love some of your suggestions ??

I am planning to release a new version soon that is compatible with GF 1.5, using some improvements suggested by Rocket Genius themselves, so I will see what I can put together.

    Cheers
    Brad

All of adizpezio’s ideas are great. Specifically, I’d love to see #1 and #4 implemented.

Completely agreeing with adispezio and Patrick. (: Thank you for the great plugin!

    Hi,

Would it be possible to add a “single line text” field for the custom taxonomies? I want users to be able to add new taxonomies. At the moment we can only use Drop Downs, Multiple Choice or Checkboxes but they are not practical if you have hundreds or even thousands to choose from.

    Thanks,

    Alan

    Hi,
Great patch. I would love to see:

    • the hierarchy preserved when using checkboxes
    • an option to automatically select “ancestor” terms when a child term is selected
    • option to only display top-level terms

    Cheers

Love the plugin and have just started using it on my forms. From the Gravity forums it has been suggested that your plugin could be used to create pages instead of posts but can find no information on how to do this, can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

    Hi clockworkorange,

To create pages with gravity form + custom post types, do the following:

    1) include a new post title field in your form
    2) expand the field’s properties
    3) click the advanced tab
    4) tick the ‘save as custom post type’ checkbox
    5) select ‘page’ from the dropdown that appears

    and you’re done ??

I just discovered this little gem the other day… it is awesome!

I would really like to see the ability for a user to edit content that they contributed. As such, there would need to be a check box where only logged in users would be able to contribute content.

I think this could be used to replace many of the directory and classifieds plugins out there if this functionality were incorporated.

    Hi

I use a form with 5 pages. On three pages I show a drop down populated with the same custom taxonomy (e.g. on page 1: drop down for custom taxonomy (therapy) selection 1, on page 2: drop down for custom taxonomy (therapy) selection 2, …) the form saves directly into a custom post type entry (I’m also using the Custom Post Type AddOn 2.0).

When I check the resulting entry only the last dropdown selection in the form is saved in the entry. I would expext that all dorpdown selections would be saved into the entry.

Any ideas, how to do this or is it a bug?

    Regards

    Richard

Thanks for the help bradvin. Worked beautifully!

+1 on these suggestions by adispezio:

    Hi,
I also would like to add a “single line text” field for the custom taxonomies. I want users to be able to add new taxonomies.

Do you have any plans to release a new version soon?

    hi raonip

I will definately include the text box in the next release.

I think the next version will be released in July only.
