I am using the Twenty ten template for my blog. I would like to reorder my pages. Right now, it is automatically set to alphabetical order. I’ve tried searching in the guides and forums but can’t find the page administration button described.

    1. You should create a child theme of twentyten theme so that any modifications you make won’t be written over when you upgrade WordPress.

    2. At least two ways to reorder your Pages:
    a) Use special menu via Appearance > Menu and click on Primary Menu in dropdown on left sidebar and move Pages to first level or second levels according to how you want them arranged.

    or
    b) Order Pages (parent and child pages) using Page Order in the right sidebar under Page Attributes in Page > Add New or Pages > Edit Page panel. Or add Page Order in Quick Edit section of each Page in Pages Directory.

    Hi mercime,

    1. I am not using any WordPress upgrades; I am on the free WordPress. It seems that I need to be able to edit CSS to add a child theme and I can’t do that because I am restricted to preview in the CSS edit page. When WordPress upgrades, will my modifications be lost?

    2. Thanks for the help. I’ve managed to get it done using the Page Order in the Quick Edit section of each page.

I am on the free WordPress.

If you mean that you’re on WordPress.com, then no, you won’t have to worry about upgrades since the techs will take care of that. For future reference, forums for WordPress.com users are at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/

I’ve managed to get it done using the Page Order in the Quick Edit section of each page.

Glad it worked out for you.
