• I have a URL for a wmv file that I want to embed on the site. I tried using WordPress’s embed video feature that is already included. It worked fine on my computer using Google Chrome. It didn’t play nice in Internet Explorer and some people reported not being able to see it at all.

So, I’ve been trying to find an app to install. This one seems like it’s the closest to being able to work, but I am not sure how to do it. Is it possible? If so, would you please direct me how to do it or where I can find the information to do it?

    Thanks!

    Kim

Embedding video files works very poorly across different browsers and operating systems. That’s the reason why YouTube, Vimeo, etc. etc. all use Flash.

I recommend you do the same. Either upload it to one of those sites or convert the file to a MP4 or FLV.

Can you suggest a way for me to convert it? I do not have the original file and the only access I have to it is from the URL it’s posted on. My client wants it posted onto her website. She has permission from the owner of the site to use it on her site as well. It’s an hour long video.

Download the file and then run it through a converter? Handbrake can convert to MP4.
