After screwing up my blog last week, I deleted and re-installed it. But I’m having problems uploading images through the back office. Here’s the error message: ““10685733-1.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory /home/ public_html/wp-content/uploads/2011/02. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

I can upload the images using ftp program but the images do not show in my library. I have obviously corrupted something but I don’t know what or how to fix it. Does anyone have suggestions?

    chmod /wp-content to 777
    do the dashboard upload
    chmod back to 755
    should work after that

If I understand you correctly, I change the permissions of “wp-content” to 777. Then go to add new image, upload, then change “wp-content” permission back to 755. I have done this with no result. If I misunderstood your directions, please advise me. Alternatively, I can upload images via ftp.
