i just tried a different theme – and now everything is gone! I can’t even enter the administration interface. Everything has just disepeared!

The same thing has just happened to me, and since my site is somewhat new I’m ashamed to say I haven’t yet done a backup ?? After losing all customizations to the Twentyten theme after 3.0.5 update, I attempted to change the theme, and now cannot access control panel or even the homepage. Opera shows that no code whatsoever is even being returned by my site at libertystash.com

In a case like this, I would always try a *manual* reinstallation of WordPress. It’s possible some files got corrupted during the automatic upgrade. Always make a backup of your database and files before upgrading/reinstalling.

I am in the process of fixing my installation. I reinstalled a fresh copy of the 3.0.5 wordpress install over top of itself and I am importing my database piece by piece. It’ll take a few hours, but this will give me a chance for a fresh start on the design and to choose a new theme to start modifying. I will, of course, have to reinstall and reconfigure all my plugins, but this will probably also be for the best in my situation. I know this fix is more work than necessary, but it’ll work. PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function register nav menus() in /var/www/web23/web/wp-content/themes/platform/sections/nav/section.nav.php on line 36 – do anybody know how to deal with that?

Could you be missing an underscore in your function call?
