• Hi,

Is there a way to make a page stay on the main site I have my blog at?

I’m using 1.5 and would like to make a page (main index page) with links that is always there when people go to my domain https://www.xxx.com

    Thanks

    Aki

  • Someone else may understand your question better, but if you have installed WordPress to your root directory, then all your links within your site will be in your root directory. So example.com/index.php?p=4 could have a link to example.com/index.php?p=456 or to category example.com/index.php?cat=3 or the same idea with permalinks.

Do you have your WordPress “site” on a domain other than your own?

Can you be more specific and give us an example of what you are talking about?

I have 1.5 running in my root directory at
    https://www.dog-treats-n-dog-care-tips.com/

I’m sorry if what I’m asking is not clear.

What I want to do is, make a “page” not a post always show when people go to my site.

    Is this clear?

    Thanks

    Aki

Okay, so this is what I understand. Do you want a static “page” that doesn’t show any posts when visitors first arrive on your site or do you want to make a link to a page show up on every page of your site? Or you want a specific Page to be seen on your site….or do you want to have a web page embedded in your main page through the use of a frame or iframe so people will always see it when they are visiting every page on your site?

Here are some things that might help you, until we get things a little clearer and we know what kind of page you are talking about:

    * First Steps with WordPress – I recommend you go through this article so you will have some familiarity with the program and its jargon so you can get a better handle on what is being discussed
    * Styling Lists with CSS and WordPress – will help you create a list of the “Page(s)” you want to show up, like in the sidebar, on every page
    * WordPress Blog Design and Layout – Might give you some terminology dealing with the layout to help figure out what you want to do
    * Using WordPress Themes – addresses the issue of themes and how to use them
    * WordPress Lessons – there might be something here that will specificallyl address your issue, or at least give you the terminology to get it figured out

When you figure out the specifics, we’re still here, ready and willing to help.

I just want a specific Page to be seen everytime when people go to my site address.
