Password Problems – reset works, then password only works for the first log in

    I could use a little advice. I just installed a new WordPress instance ( WordPress 3.0.4). All seems to be working properly except for one thing. I have two user accounts. When I go to log in (domain/wp-admin), the password that I set doesn’t work. It just clears out the password field…no message and no access. I click on “Lost Your Password?” and go through the process of resetting. I can then log in fine with the WordPress-generated password. However, the moment that I log out, the password (either the wordpress-generated one or a new one that I set) stops working, and I have to go through the entire process again.

    I have tried it on both user accounts…same results.
    I have tried it in Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome.

    It has been doing this since I first installed this instance of WordPress through Fantastico on a virtual server.

    Any ideas?
