[Plugin: SimpleModal Contact Form (SMCF)] Help resolving conflict with WP-PostRatings

  • Can you give me any suggestions for solving a conflict with WP-PostRatings plugin?

    Specifically, I am using Templatic’s Real Estate theme which uses Eric’s simplemodal-contact-form. And the contact form will not pop-up if I have WP-PostRatings plugin active or ANY star ratings plugin active it seems (I have tried contestant ratings and gd star ratings too and they all disable the contact form when activated.)

    What is the error you are getting? That is an older version of SimpleModal, but I suspect that something else is causing the issue.

    Hi Eric, thank you for your reply!

    I have been trying so hard to find a solution to this and it is preventing our site from launching.

    The error is that the pop-up form won’t pop-up when the star ratings plugins are active. The link just does nothing when you press it.

    I think, from what I have been reading online, that it’s a “jquery conflict” but I really don’t know anything about that. I tried various solutions that were suggested, entering php lines of code in the header and on the page with the conflict, but none of those solutions worked.

    You can see one of the two forms that are being effected if you press the “Send to Friend” link at the top of this page:

    At this time, the star ratings is activated, so the pop-up won’t work, if i deactivate it, it will work. But I need it to work alongside with the activated star ratings.

    Ha-ha. Sorry.

    I just checked the page and I don’t see that SMCF is being loaded.

    hi, thanks. yes i don’t think its loading either.
    i think the star-ratings plugin is preventing it from loading.
    but do you have any idea, how or why that plugin can prevent SMCF from loading and what I can do to fix it? thank you eric.

    I am using them together w/o any issues.

    The only other suggestion I have would be to create an admin account for me to log in and take a look around.
