Favicons removed

  • Almost all of my sites suddenly have the favicon graphics missing. They haven’t been replaced by a notepad icon or anything like that – that space is just plain white.

    Any thoughts as to why? Also seeing a ton of spam visits lately. Related?

  • Probably not – you’re seeing the default favicon that your browser provides if no favicon can be found… you should check to make sure that either there is a favicon tag in the HTML (<link rel="shortcut icon" href="https://example.com/myicon.ico" />) or that /favicon.ico exists.
