How to change permalinks so pages have a custom URL?

  • I have a couple of wordpress sites going & on one of them I am able to change the permalinks to a custom URL.

    But I just started a new wordpress & for some reason I do not have this option to edit them to make them custom?

    Any ideas on how I am able to make this happen on the new site?
