• Hi all,

Still a rookie so please be patient;-)
I installed locally my FULLSCREEN theme:

    https://graphpaperpress.com/themes/fullscreen

    – I want a search box and a drop-down menu for choosing categories on my FRONT PAGE (home page).
    – I gave a try with the wp-admin dashboard, BUT the result is that these (widgets) are appearing at the bottom page of the current post category. (uncategorized).

    So my question is:

What are the files that i have to fiddle with on my WordPress installation, and/or what are the tutorials that i need to read in order to place them wherever i like ?

Thanks very much, …so desperate !

    Thanks esmi,

    i stroke gold !

The widgets are related to sidebar matters, if i am humbly not mistaken.

I had the chance to communicate with a FULLSCREEN website owner,
and in order to get access to various categories from a pull-down menu on my HOME (front) page, i had to create MENUS (what else !!!) with the WordPress dashboard, and then drag and drop in categories afterwards. You then get a nice pull-down menu with all categories properly nested. ??

it’s just a little confusing at the begining, (specifically for sub-categories) but i quickly got used to it. The Help files are indeed very handy too.

Next, besides this menu, i want to create a search box.
    stay tuned….
