• Hi all,

I’m moving to WordPress from a Movable Type blog I’ve had for 7+ years. I’m publishing the new blog to the same /blog directory that my old blog still resides in.

Though I have no intention of ever updating that blog again, I want to leave it and all its years of archives in place.

It seemed to work fine, but I just noticed that trying to use a search from the old blog no longer works. It won’t search the archives. Even a custom google search from either that blog’s index or my WP blog won’t search the old archives. The WP install grabs it.

I’m assuming this is due to something with .htaccess and WP’s dynamic publishing.

My question is, is there a way around this, or am I just going to have to give in and start publishing to a new directory while asking everyone to change their bookmarks?

    Thanks for any advice!
