• I have searched but with my limited knowledge I have not found a post to help me. I have no idea what I am doing wrong (In the upload of WP, I am guessing) but I cannot add Themes or Plug-ins. In one host I use for blogs I install wp with fantastico and the themes and plug-ins install without any passwords etc. When I add blog sites to this host via fantastico, I think I must be making a wrong choice somewhere, as when I try to add plug-ins or themes I am asked for my host, username and password. I eventually supplied as I could not get anything to work for me despite removing and adding the site about 3 times. It still will not work despite adding my password.

Hope someone can hazard a guess where I have gone wrong, it is probably only small if you are good at tech stuff, I am not and despite my patience I cannot find It.

    My wordpress site is https://writetocommunicate.com/

  • You are being asked for your FTP host, username & password. The need to supply these credentials seems to vary from server to server.

Thank you for such a fast reply Esmi.

I gave my ftp details but it would still not let me get themes or plugins. “I eventually supplied as I could not get anything to work for me despite removing and adding the site about 3 times. It still will not work despite adding my password.”

It just keeps asking for my password. (however many times I type it in – it does not tell me I got it wrong it just reverts back with the passwaoard missing but not the host or username)

Have you verified your FTP credentials with your hosts?
