• Resolved bobover3

I posted here yesterday. I’m posting the same unresolved problem again.

I want readers to be able to comment on pages and posts. None of my pages shows any way for people to comment. I’ve checked the boxes in my theme (Woo’s The Morning After) saying that I want comments. No results.

I got a reply saying to “put once <?php comments_template()?> in your page php file.” Assuming that the page php file is the HTML version of the page, I tried this and nothing happened. Is there something I’m missing? Some special place this line has to go? I’m a total novice, so I may be missing something obvious.

Here in the Forum, the reply said to “put once <?php comments_template()?> in your page php file.” Is this the same thing? I tried this and it didn’t work either.

This is very important to me, and I don’t know what to do.

Will one of the experts here please help me? Thank you!

I think I’ve confirmed from other Forum posts that <?php comments_template(); ?> is the right code. Now where do I put it? In the page by page codes, or in some central file?

Please tolerate my ignorance and let me know.

    Sorted it!

Try this (don’t bother with messing around with the php files)

In the ‘edit post’ page make sure you can see the ‘discussion’ box (should be half way down the page)

If you can’t see it – go to ‘screen options’ in the top right and check the ‘discussion’ box. (it was switched off on mine by default)

Now in the discussion box, make sure comments are enabled for that post… (again, that was not checked on any of my posts)

Now comments should work – hurrah!
