Special formatting plugin?

  • I’m creating a theme and I want the user to be able to highlight parts of the content of a Post or Page directly from the Post screen. This is easy to achieve if the user knows a bit of HTML, but otherwise I am hacking it by using the blockquote and h6 tags to provide specially styled sections. This has the obvious disadvantage of not allowing these tags to be used for their proper purpose.
    What I’m looking for is a plugin that puts a dropdown on the Visual screen which allows the user to select special formatting (just like the Heading menu, really). Anyone come across sure a thing? I’d accept a better hack, too!
