My contact form at https://wrightlawfirm.com/?page_id=247 is broken. No matter what is selected in the drop-down menu, the form “thinks” that you must make a selection to send.

It used to work fine. Any ideas? WordPress upgrade from 3.01 break it?

Using WordPress 3.04 (just updated today from 3.03 – neither 3.03 or 3.04 work)
Using Version 2.4.3 of Contact Form 7. (just updated today – still fails)
Using Version 1.2 of Really Simple Captcha.

The only way I’ve been able to make the form send is to remove the “required” star from the form. My customer is upset because their form no longer works.

  • Hi,
That’s an odd one. I tried to replicate your problem, I could not. I was at first thinking that your &ndash character might bork something, or the colon, or the comma, all included in your values. But I got all those to work.

The only thing that comes to mind is that maybe you have pipes in your selects, and one of them doesn’t have a value on the right? Or maybe some other typo in your SELECT statement.

    Good luck,
    Dave

    Problem fixed. Strange though.

In the drop-down menu items there were 3 spaces between a date and time. Replacing the spaces with an “@” symbol fixed the problem.

Evidently, you cannot have 3 spaces in a row in a drop-down menu.

Ditto. I had a bunch of spaces because I copy and pasted a list from Word and didn’t think it would matter. It does. It makes the require not work as well as I wasn’t getting the values to come through in the email when I took the require option off.
