someone else posted this same issue two months ago on the www.remarpro.com forums here and got no response. Looks like the ‘plugins’ and ‘developer’ tabs are from the backend settings page for this plugin are missing.

The Developer tab is downloaded separately from the core of the plugin because it was intended to be a premium feature, but we decided to make it free.

Sometimes the premium features don’t download instantly, in which case you can force the update. See screencast below on how to do that:

I’m getting a permissions error when I try to run the upgrade

One of the folders that is necessary for downloading additional features for the WP-Property plugin is not writable. This means features cannot be downloaded. To fix this, you need to set the wp-content/plugins/wp-property/core/premium permissions to 0755.

even though the permissions on that folder are set to 755 (I’ve checked and rechecked). Any suggestions?

Lisa, I sent you an email!

I installed this plugin manually, rather than via WordPress’ admin section. This may have resulted in a folder ownership issue. When we changes the folder owner, and updated the premium folder permissions to 777, the error went away. PROBLEM SOLVED, thank you Andy for being so responsive to my help request.

Lisa – great! Thanks for posting an update.

I’ve change the permissions to 777 on this folder and it still says “One of the folders that is necessary for downloading additional features for the WP-Property plugin is not writable. This means features cannot be downloaded. To fix this, you need to set the wp-content/plugins/wp-property/core/premium permissions to 0755.”

How do I change the folder owner? Would that solve my issue? Thanks!

Last time we encountered this the user has to contact their host. This doesn’t seem to be an issue with the popular hosts (HostGator, GoDaddy, etc.), and about one in a hundred seems to have this issue Please let us know if your host resolves it.
