• On my dashboard I always find the top post being the home page but if I check the link it always goes to https://stats.wordpress.com/

Can someone tell me why? And if it affects traffic in any way? Given that the home page has its own address why it doesn’t appear?

    Thanks!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    I’ve noticed something similar.

I have a static home page (called something other than “home”) and I also have a link in the main navigation bar (called home).

When looking at my stats, the page that is my actual home page “Genuine Thriving” has page views, but then so does “Home Page” and like the original poster stated, it links to “stats.wordpress.com”

I have not tried what esmi has said to do, mainly because I’m not too concerned about it, but wanted to write this response to let the poster know that they’re not the only one.

This has now changed for me.

Instead of “home” linking to stats.wordpress.com, it links to a different version of my homepage.

I have a page called “Genuine Thriving” whose link (when hovering over in the stats) is: https://www.GenuineThriving.com.

When I hover over “Home Page” in the stats: GenuineThriving.com.

Not sure what to make of this, but it’s interesting.

For me also the “Home Page” link links to https://stats.wordpress.com/ page.

Same here, I have a lot of views to the ‘Home Page’, but it links to stats.wordpress.com so I’m not even sure if it’s counting MY homepage or not.

Same here. I tried everything esmi said, but no hope.

However, for my main blog I deleted some inactive plugins (e.g. RSS import) and the Stats show the right URL. The strange fact, my other blogs don’t have the same plugin I deleted and the problem continues.

I’m not so sure, I guess this issue appeared after the last update…

I have this too. I have “home” and “home page”. The “home” page is my actual website, and the “home page” is the stats page. Hoping this doesn’t matter all that much!

I believe the “Home page” referred to in WordPress.com Stats in this instance is the Posts page which you can set in Reading Settings when you use “Front page displays – A static page” option.

    @buzztone

I don’t think so because I have a specific page set-up for that on my site and in my “Stats,” I see hits to the “page” I have set-up (for the posts) as well as the “home page” and my “front page.”

My home page is called “Genuine Thriving” and my page of posts is “Blogs.”

I see stats for three pages:
    1. Genuine Thriving
    2. Blogs
    3. Home Page

This is also happening on my sites and it just started last week. I’ve talked to my hosting company and they could not figure out what is wrong and said to talk to the plugin creator.

Does this mean that everyone who comes to my home page is seeing the wordpress.com stats site instead of mine? Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this? Thanks!

I’m having the same problem…. Home page is redirected to stats.wordpress.com
    No solution yet?

on two of my blogs i have stats.worpdress.com showing as ‘home’ on my popular pages list. It also shows up in my popular posts script i wrote.

There must be some way to fix this no?

I’ve been having this problem too, since I set up my new blog a few weeks ago (my old one just defaulted to the post page as the front page). I just did a quick test, and discovered in my case, the stats for “home page” are actually the stats for the blog posts page. The stats for “home” are for the splash page.

My splash page is called “home” and my posts page is called “blog,” so I’m still baffled as to where the “home page” comes from, but I just recorded my stats for the day on each page, then logged out and visited each page and refreshed them several times (counting how many times, of course) and went back and the new stats were just what I expected.

After I upgraded to 3.1, my “home page” link on the stats feed started linking to the splash page instead of wordpress.com, which is what was really confusing. Both the “home” and “homepage” links took me to the splash page, but now I know the stats numbers for “home page” refer to my page called “blog.” (which has never shown up in the stats as “blog”)

I think my problem is related. I’m running 3.1 and I get a “The requested URL could not be retrieved” message in the Stats box on my dashboard.

The error message tells me to contact my cache administrator – so I assumed this was something to do with the cache plug-in, but deactivating all plug-ins has no effect.

Not sure what happened or what has changed…. but on the dashboard my home page stats doesn’t link to stats.wordpress.com anymore.. it now links correctly to my home page again.

I’m using version 1.8.1 of WordPress.com Stats and WordPress 3.1
