[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] post.php 500 error only when WordPress SEO is enabled

    I’ve tried this a lot of times, but the error is still the same:
    – when I open a new article page, I enter the data (including a description in the WP SEO metabox) and then press publish. While the post is introduced in the DB, the confirmation in the admin that the post was published never shows up. Instead I get a blank page with a URL like this:
    https://www.domain.com/wp-admin/post.php and the only request in the page is: “1293602878102”,”RESP-START”,”https://www.domain.com/wp-admin/post.php”,”500″,”0″

    I have been talking about this with the hostgator admins (where my site is hosted) and they either recommend to take out this plugin or change server to a more expensive one. Honestly, neither seems to be a solution.

    Finally I learnt that they are killing the processes automatically because they take too many resources.

    Any help, any help at all, is appreciated!

    I just got an answer back from the HG team, for the reason why the processes are killed automatically:
    “The pages are getting killed because they are consuming over 45 seconds of CPU usage (this isn’t the same as 45 seconds running, it means it’s actively being processed in the CPU for 45 seconds). This is not something your script should be doing, it indicates an issue with the script.”

    How can I check that what they are saying is true? Apparently it is, since disabling the plugin makes posting possible again.

    Sorry to say I had to disable the plugin completely due to errors in posting. Looking forward to a next version though!

    I think the problem is caused by the Sitemap generation if you have lots of posts.

    You may be right andreapernici, but my guess is that the sitemap generation is just a part of the problem. The Google sitemap plugin in combination with another seo plugin (all in one seo – I had to use something for my site) makes the post publish in less than 16 sec, while the sitemap + wordpress seo would take even 112 sec.
