Back links (credit Links ) in free wordpress thems

  • We have noticed and found many backlinks in the free themes some are hidden and some are visible?
    but we think there should be an option in wordpress or theme control panel where you can disable or enable the credit links ? what is free then if credit link are there ? just the design ?

    can any one or wordpress expert describe the issue in details as you can see [Sig removed.]

  • Links added in to themes are added by the theme designers, and it is up to them to decide whether there is an admin menu page to remove the links.

    If you do not like one particular theme because of the number of links, you are free to choose another.

    If the theme you are using hides the links through obfuscated code, I’d definitely suggest using another theme. If not, simply remove the links from the template pages. (Normally footer or sidebar templates)
