Emailed completed order line items not tax inclusive

  • Hi,

    I am having a problem with the emailed receipts for inclusive tax where the line item and subtotal are adding exclusive tax but the total is showing correct with the tax included and the VAT tax showing in brackets as expected.

    The site is showing the inclusive tax correctly on the checkout and the order in WP dashboard in WooCommerce > orders is showing the tax correctly. It is just the email that is not showing correctly.

    Further to this. It is the new order email or when I resend new order notification that this happens. The confirmed order email is showing correctly when it is sent.

    Thank you for providing detailed information about the issue. I tried replicating it on my site by placing a test order, and everything is working fine on my end.

    This indicates that a plugin or theme on your site may be affecting this behavior. In the system status report, I noticed that you have multiple plugins installed. Additionally, your PeepSo Gecko theme and PeepSo Gecko child theme are overriding the order confirmation email template (customer-completed-order.php), which could be causing the issue.

    For testing purposes, could you please create a staging site, deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce, and activate the default WordPress theme (e.g., Twenty Twenty-Five)? Then, try placing a test order and check if the issue persists. You can enable the Cash on Delivery payment method to simplify the test.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply but as you are referring to the customer-completed-order.php, does this template also create the new order email? I had additionally mentioned in my own reply yesterday that the completed order email is correct, just the new order email has the problem or if I resend new order notification it happens also.

    To answer your question, new order emails are generated by customer-processing-order.php

    To completely rule out possibility that theme is affecting the emails, please follow these instructions:

    For testing purposes, could you please create a staging site, deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce, and activate the default WordPress theme (e.g., Twenty Twenty-Five)? Then, try placing a test order and check if the issue persists.
