Restrict file downloads to members

  • Hi can anyone help? – I would like to be able to make it so that only registered users or those that are logged in can download files, but can view everything. I have found loads of plugins that make it so that you can limit access to areas and pages but I just want to limit file access.

    Have searched pretty long and hard, but something still might have missed my attention!

    Anyway, your help would be appreciated

  • My novice guess is that because WordPress stores files on the server file system, and not inside the database, this will be a more difficult thing to control access to.
