Remove ‘by’ before guest author name?

Is there any way to remove the word ‘by’ that is automatically added before the quest author name? We use it on a Dutch site, so this English word is out of place. Unfortunately, it is not surrounded by HTML tags, so I cannot use CSS to not display it.
