Hi, I noticed that templates can only be edited and not duplicated. If I wanted to always keep an original copy could I do that? I am wondering if, in order to get a copy, by creating a new one I could then copy blocks of the original one onto it.
I don’t know if it makes sense what I would like to do, but being a novice I am afraid of making a mistake. Thanks

    Hello,
Needed too ! We can copy header/footer templates but not the native page templates, really strange !
I think you can create a new “personal template” but it’ll take time to recreate all blocks, i don”t find how we can copy/paste them from one to another template, need to recreate them one by one. I ‘am newbie to WordPress and twenty twenty-five so maybe an expert will explain how to ??

Yes you can copy all blocks from the original template, then create a new template, open the code editor mode, and paste all the blocks.

Next to the publish/ save button, there is an Options menu.
In that menu, there is an option that says “copy all blocks”.

Perfect, many thanks. If I may ask another similar question…I’m asking whether to create a sidebar just insert a column block on the right (or left) side since, unlike TT4, there is no specific template by default. Thank you

    Ok, it work thanks !

it should be easier to allow copy directly from templates.

you are right manutek75, after all even for the sidebar it would be easier to have a specific template and we would not have bothered Carolina (:-) (:-)
