I wonder if anybody can advise me if there is a way to verify site ownership by logging into the WordPress website affected: [ redundant link deleted ] I am the owner of the website, I have limited access to the Cpanel and have tried to Associate a DNS record with Google using the Domain name provider, but am stumped. Is there a plugin or a way to add a meta tag in wordpress?

Or lastly is there a plugin?

  • You can verify site ownership without using a plugin by following these steps:

    1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
    2. Navigate to Appearance > Theme File Editor.
    3. On the right-hand side, locate and click on the header.php file under your active theme.
    4. Add the meta verification code provided by Google just before the </head> tag in the code.
    5. Click Update File to save your changes.
    6. Go back to Google Search Console and click Verify to confirm the ownership.

Be cautious when editing theme files to avoid breaking your site. If you’re using a child theme or a custom header file, make sure to edit the correct file for the changes to take effect.
