Getting spam registration even with reCaptcha

I am running Wp 3.03 with the reCaptcha plugin for registration. For some reason I am still getting many spam registrations, I’m not sure how these are getting past the reCaptcha. Does anyone know how this could be happening and how to prevent it? I had to turn off the option allowing anyone to register for my blog to stop all of these registrations.
