Hi, I have stock tracking implemented on my site, but for some reason when a purchase is made the product for some reason does not remove itself if the qty is 0 or show as out of stock. We do have a deposit payment option used on the site, could this me the reason the stock tracking is not working properly? The fact that the order is not paid in full or is there another option? I have tested, checked all the basic but not sure why this keeps happening.

    Hi @nicheworx,

The issue seems to be related to the deposit payment option, as WooCommerce typically updates stock levels once an order is marked as paid. Since you’re using a deposit payment option, the stock might not update because the order isn’t fully paid.

WooCommerce usually adjusts stock when an order is marked as completed or processing. However, with a deposit payment option, the order might remain in pending payment or on hold status, which can prevent stock from being updated.

You may need to adjust your settings to ensure stock is updated even with different order statuses, or manually update the order status when the deposit is received.

Also can you state the name of the plugin you’re using for your part payment processing?

To pinpoint the cause, could you test a full payment order and see if stock tracking works as expected? I’ll be looking forward to your observation.

Hi, thank you for the feedback. I thought it may be the payment option. I am using the plugin Deposits & Partial Payments for WooCommerce – by Acowebs.

I have tested it with a full payment and the stock tracking works.

Which settings need to be adjusted to ensure stock is updated even with different order statuses, or manually update the order status when the deposit is received.

    Hello nicheworx,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand you’re using the Deposits & Partial Payments for WooCommerce plugin by Acowebs and noticed that stock tracking works with full payments but not with deposits.

It would be best to contact Acowebs support for specific guidance on configuring the plugin to ensure stock updates with different order statuses or when deposits are received.

    Have a great day!

Thank you for the feedback, are there any similar plugins that can work that are lower in cost?

Appreaciate this question. You might consider exploring the WooCommerce Deposits or AfterPay extensions which offers similar functionality for offering payment plans. Check out the features and pricing to see if it fits your needs.

You can also browse our WooCommerce Extensions Marketplace for other options.

Just to add, WooCommerce.com has a  30-day refund policy, so you can test the extension to make sure it works as you need.

If you have any pre-sales questions, please reach out to us at WooCommerce.com → My Account → Support. You’ll need to login with your WooCommerce account or create one if you haven’t already.
