    Hello all,

I’m not positive when this happened, if it was after an upgrade or after adding a widget to the sidebar, but while viewing my site in Internet Explorer, the sidebar widgets are basically spilling out into my actual site.

I have a basic understanding of html, but not to the level of being able to determine why it works fine in Firefox, but is screwed up in IE.

Could anyone possibly suggest some methods of fixing this? I can also post any more information if needed.

And don’t get me started on how long it takes the website to load…I don’t know if that’s a godaddy problem, or a coding problem. We designed the site, and someone wrote and uploaded all of the code for us, so I have no idea what they did. Obviously something behind the scenes is choking it to death, but I’ll have to ask about that in another post. Even the admin site behind the website is slow as molasses, which doesn’t make sense to me. Anyway, I just care about the IE sidebar at this point.

  • Your site is currently showing an error 500.

Yeah, for some reason, I can look at your site just fine in my browser….

but when I try to run it through the validator to check your code….it comes up with the error 500

Could that be a server side problem? I was thinking of contacting godaddy soon to see if someone on the shared server is eating up most of the resources. This has only been a recent problem, and as I stated since it is for the site and the admin, I don’t believe it’s code.

I’m guessing by using the validation you are talking about you could tell if there is an IE problem?

Well, with all of the talk about validation, I used https://validator.w3.org/unicorn/ and hit about 24 errors, and in fixing some of the tags it has worked itself out in IE.

I’m still going to contact godaddy about a possible shared server resource hog during peak hours, but thanks for the help!
