AdSense Code Redundant

Thanks for getting in touch @devin104. There are occasions where the AdSense platform doesn’t determine an already placed Site Kit placed AdSense snippet. I appreciate that this can indeed be confusing. Regardless, I can confirm from checking your site that this snippet has been placed, meaning you don’t need to manually insert the snippet.

I can also see from reviewing your site, that a separate snippet, not placed via Site Kit, is present (screenshot). While this won’t cause any issues, it’s certainly not necessary. Whether this has been added via another plugin, or manually, feel free to remove it if you wish, or alternatively you can select the option within Site Kit to not allow the plugin to insert your AdSense snippet – as one already exists.

Hopefully the above is of use, and hopefully your site will be approved for ads soon. Let me know if you have any questions with the above and I’d be happy to assist further.

1. I would like to remove the PayPal Snippet [Widget?] you provided in the image.

I do not know how to find the Snippet.? Is this something you could do on your end or instruct me how to do it on my end?

I would much rather keep the Site Kit connection to AdSense

2. However I did find the “select the option within Site Kit to not allow the plugin to insert your AdSense snippet” under the Site Kit Connected Services and disabled it.

If the PayPal snippet could be disabled I would reconnect using the Site Kit Option

Also, I am getting the following notice from JetPack:

“. JetPack:? **Consolidate Google Tags**

   – You currently have multiple Google Tag Manager implementations running

   – Consolidate all Google tags (Analytics, Ads, etc.) into a single GTM container

   – Remove redundant tags

Could you provide some of your sage advice on how to repair this? I can see that “Tag Manager” is associated with Site Kit via its “Connected Services.”

Hello @devin104, thanks for following up. With regards to finding and removing the other AdSense places snippet on your site, this would be done via a plugin that placed the snippet if it is an option within the plugin or by removing the code manually from your header.php file.

If you’re unsure or uncomfortable removing code from your site then your hosting provider should be able to help you further with how to do this. Once that snippet is removed, you won’t need to do anything in Site Kit as you already have Site Kit placing the AdSense code on your site.

the advice you see from JetPack is optional and not something that is required. This method is used if you were looking to set up and manage other services such as Analytics and AdSense via Tag Manager and keeping them all together in one GTM container. This isn’t something you need to do and connecting each service separately through Site Kit will work in the same way and allow you to manage your settings for each service separately in the plugin.

The difficulties I am facing are that:

1. I do not know how to find the Plugin, Snippet, Widget, Site, etc. which may be the source[s] of the redundant codes.
2. I shall not be providing any support from my Hosting Provider (WordPress) any time soon. They are very fond of telling their subscribers that helping us on 3rd Party Apps is “Beyond the Scope of their Support” even though they promote these 3rd Party Apps.
3. But happily you have given me more substantive assistance than WordPress or JetPack.

@devin104 If the code snippet is placed via another plugin then you should be able to remove this via an option in the plugin settings. As I am unsure what plugin would be placing this, I can’t provide any steps on how to do this.

As mentioned by James above, this won’t cause any issues but you can remove this code if you wish to do so as Site Kit is already placing the code on your site.
