Sidebar Widgets and Footer moved up into default widget in PressPlay (IE 7 & 8)
-
After adding a comment to a post at Wombat Wisdom, my lower sidebar widgets (3 of them) and my footer moved up the sidebar and into the default sidebar space. While I could see the Recent Activity section of the default sidebar, the elements that moved covered up the Archives section of the default sidebar. This happened in IE 7 and 8 but not in Chrome or Firefox.
This happened when what appeared to be the 10th comment was posted. (It wasn’t actually the tenth comment, but appeared as the 10th in the recent comment section of the default sidebar.) Ten was the original setting for comment limits in this section.
I don’t know if my combination of widgets proved too long for the sidebar and thus forced the widgets up or if there is another problem, but I resolved it, at least for now, by changing the comment limit (as well as the recent post limit) to 5.
I’m sharing this in case the developer needs to fix something or in case someone else runs into a similar problem. Or perhaps someone has a suggestion as to why this happened and direct me to a more appropriate fix.
Thanks.
