• i recently backed up & then reinstalled my wordpress site.
it was using "wp fastest cache" previous to the backup.
the folder for the "wp fastest cache" cache was included with the back up.

i reinstalled the whole site successfully from the backup. all the pages were there online.
when i started adding new pages, the pages are being added, but are not showing up on the links in the sidebar. (the old page links are still in the sidebar)

the site has location based pages
    i.e.
it has now has 2 pages for "Massachusetts"
they both have the same content on the page (the text on the page)

but the old page only has the towns added before the backup (in the sidebar links)
    i.e. boston & 8 others
& the new page has all 20 towns under "Massachusetts"

when you click on "boston" you only get the first 9 towns that were added. (because boston was one of the first towns added before the backup & reinstallation)

i have pressed the 2 blue buttons to clear all cache a few times each
    "clear all cache"
    "delete cache & minified css/js"

i have deactivated & then re-activated "wp fastest cache" a few times.

i have fully cleared the browser cache on my pc & other people have seen the issues i am seeing. (from different devices)

also, when i updated the content of the page (just to test it) (i just changed grad to graduate) the page did not change.

so the cache is not clearing, as it is set to clear each time the page is updated.

i have cleared out (emptied) the entire cache folder. (for "wp fastest cache")
so both the "cache" folder & "wpfc-minified" folder have been emptied.

how do i ensure that all of the cache files are cleared, because based on the page not updating the content it looks like this is the issue (as well as other things)

& is there anything else i need to do to resolve the issue.

The was created at 11th April. Could you delete the /wp-content/cache/ folder via FTP manually please?

inside the /cache/ folder it says “This directory is empty.”

inside this folder there were still folders for pages

    /wp-content/cache/

so there must have been 2 cache folders

after deleting the folder, the page is messed up

now the page is ok, but still only shows the old links on the right hand side

i searched for “cache” in the top right in the domain file manager in cpanel & there are no other “cache” folders – how do i find the folder where that cache is ?

the only ones there were have been deleted (?)

The cache folder exists in the /wp-content/ folder.

    Thread Starter omg123456

    (@omg123456)

the only file in that folder is a file “index.html” created 15 minutes ago.

i have also pressed the 2 blue buttons to delete the cache & the page went to this & does not show the new pages on right

Can you disable wp fastest cache please?

    yes, i have “Plugin deactivated.”

The page is still served via cache although you disabled wp fastest cache. I think that there is a permission problem. I recommend that you use a fresh WP installation.

what you mean start the site all over again ?

how do i change the permissions ?

    (@emrevona)

ddi you change hosting provider in 2024?

    Thread Starter omg123456

    (@omg123456)

no, i did not change hosting provider, the same host.

i had malware on my hosting account, & because i was trying to clear the malware & it was reapearing again, i had backed up the site using

    all-in-one-wp-migration

i asked the host to completely delete everything on the account, to ensure there was no malware left.

& then reinstalled the sites, one at a time.

the account has no malware etc on it at all now, i was careful about that.

i think i still have the “cache” folder etc from when i backed up the site, but that will just show the “old” pages that you can see now, not the new pages.

“how do i change the permissions ?”

i can do this if you tell me what to do, & you think it might help.
