• A great product, even the version of Wordfence Security free license, allows you to monitor the health of sites.

However, there was a case, about 3 years ago, a hosting account with 4 sites on which Wordfence free was located was hacked.

Therefore, I conclude that this plugin alone is not enough to protect websites.

Required 1) Choosing a reliable hosting and 2) other ways of protection, along with this wonderful product!

Hi @site2days, thank-you for your five-star review. We appreciate the kind words and endorsement of the plugin to the rest of the community.

Whilst I can’t comment on the specifics of the situation 3 years ago, it is important to remember Wordfence is an endpoint firewall so runs after PHP has loaded, but (when in Extended Protection) runs before any page content is served to the visitor. Passwords outside of that transaction such as hosting control panel, FTP, WordPress admin users, and database should also be hard to guess and protected with 2FA where possible to prevent another kind of attack. Wordfence also works with services like Cloudflare, Litespeed, and others that can provide some extra protection at the server.

    All the best,
    Peter.
