Display search results on the same page

Is it possible somehow to display search results on the same page where the search was made? I have a search field that searches through a custom post type thats on the page that is used for listing the custom post type. I dont want the user to leave that page, I want all search results to be listed below that search field. I guess this could be solved by AJAX WP queries.

Anyone that could point me in the right direction or give me some tip what solutions might exist? Would be ever grateful!
