• I had previously been using PayPal’s Advanced Card processing for credit card functionality directly on the website, and had disabled PayPal’s Standard Payments through PayPal’s site. Evidently recent updates requires the Standard Payments now, so I enabled it. However, the Advanced Card no longer works with the following error message cross browser/credit card type:

“There was an error processing your order. Please check for any charges in your payment method and review your order history before placing the order again.”

Side note: I have disabled the Credit Card option so that clients may continue to make payments directly via PayPal until this is resolved.

Any suggestions to get it working most appreciated!

    Hello @jpite

Thank you for providing the details of your issue.

We’ve noticed similar reports, but have not yet been able to consistently reproduce this problem on our end. To help identify and resolve the issue, we would suggest creating a staging site where you can test the functionality of Advanced Card Processing. You can use a sandbox account for this purpose to simulate transactions safely.

For testing, you can find a list of test cards here. By running these tests, we can better understand whether the issue persists in the sandbox environment, which will help us address it more efficiently.

Once you’ve completed testing on your staging site, please let us know if the issue is reproducible, and we can work towards resolving it promptly.

Please reach out if you need further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Krystian

    Hello @kattouf

Yes, it does seem your issue might be a bit different, but the suggestion I provided earlier is still applicable to your case. Please try narrowing it down as explained, and feel free to create your own thread with the findings. This will help us address your specific issue more effectively.

    Kind Regards,
    Krystian

I’m having the same issue as jpite. I’ve been using Advanced Credit Card processing for years, and it started giving “There was an error processing your order. Please check for any charges in your payment method and review your order history before placing the order again.” after Nov 8.

    Log shows:
2024-11-18T18:13:46+00:00 Warning No PayPal order ID found in order #30621 meta.
2024-11-18T18:13:46+00:00 Error Payment failed: There was an error processing your order. Please check for any charges in your payment method and review your order history before placing the order again. OrderProcessor.php:222

    Hello?@joekewe?@jpite?@kattouf

We have identified what is causing this behavior with Advanced Card Processing (ACDC). It appears that when our JavaScript (JS) is not enabled on the checkout page, ACDC payments are affected. This is unintended behavior, as ACDC should work independently of the smart buttons (JS). As a temporary workaround, we recommend enabling Smart Button Locations (in Standrad Payments tab) on the Classic Checkout or Block Checkout page, depending on which setup you are currently using.

This should resolve the issue until we implement a fix. If this workaround does not resolve the problem, please let us know. There is a slight chance that, despite enabling the buttons, they might not appear due to a conflict with a third-party plugin or theme. If that is the case, we will work with you to investigate further.

    Kind Regards,
    Krystian

Thank you Krystian – that works. For others, keep in mind you have still have to disable the Advanced Card Processing, but you will get a functioning Debit/Credit option from the Standard PayPal payment option.

    Hello @jpite

Advanced Card Processing should work fine as long as the smart buttons are enabled.

If you still face issues with the Debit/Credit option, we’ll sort it out internally in your ticket. I will respond in a few minutes.

    Kind Regards,
    Krystian
