• Hi Folks,

I’ve been a long time, happy user of CookieYes, but for some reason the consent banner is no longer appearing. It is defaulting to zero cookies which causes a few issues, though it does make the site more compliant.

Is there anything obvious on my side which is conflicting?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @theqreditor

    Greetings from CookieYes!

Could you please confirm whether the CookieYes plugin is still active on your site?

Hi there, sorry for the delay.

The plugin is active, but I have disabled the banner to avoid problems with the site’s content.

A WP Happiness engineer took a look and saw the following error, which they thought might be of some use to you. I have attached the image.

I also see that the CookieYes code is appearing twice in my source code – being a WordPress.com user I don’t edit source code, and the engineer is sure the plugin is responsible after a few checks.

I also notice that enabling CookieYes stops Google Ad consent from loading as well – I do not have GCM enabled – even though I have in the past, and the website scanner gives the OK to when active.

I’ve left the plugin in stalled but the banner disabled for now. Let me know if I can help further.

    Hi @theqreditor

It appears that the wp_head() function has been added inside the <body> tag of your theme, which is causing this duplication issue.

The wp_head() function is typically used to add scripts, styles, and meta tags and should be placed just before the closing <head> tag in your theme’s header file (header.php).
