    Hello,

I want to resend the order confirmation email to a customer. If I go to a specific order, in the right corner I can choose between the following three options:
    – “Resend new order notification”.
    – “Email Invoice/order details to customer”, and
    – “Regenerate download permissions”.

If I choose on the “Email invoice/order details to customer” and click on the arrow, it works perfectly. However for some reason, when I try the option “resend new order notification”, nothing happens at all.

    Any idea why this is?

    Hey @isabella92 ,

Thanks for reaching out! I’d just like to make sure I’m understanding your issue correctly. Are you expecting the “New order” email to be sent to the customers email address after clicking resend?

If so, this specific option re-sends the “New order” email, which goes to the admin email (or the specified email address in this email types settings):

So, the customer wouldn’t actually receive this specific email notification as it is sent to the admin email. You can read more about this in the Email Settings documentation here:

    https://woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/emails/#email-notifications

However, if you, as the admin, are not receiving the New order email after resending this, please can you double-check the email address added to the Recipient(s) field is correct? You can find this via WooCommerce → Settings → Emails, and clicking Manage next to the “New order” email type, like so:

Hope this helps, and please let us know if you have any other questions, or if I’ve misunderstood the issue in any way. ??

    Cheers!

    Hello!

For our order process we have two Woo emails that go to the customer:
    1) Processing order (we have changed to subject to “order confirmation”)
    2) Completed order (we have changed the subject to “shipping confirmation/receipt”)

So I thought that the two resend-emails reflected these two, my bad ??

But in your opinion, would you say that the “order details email” that I can resend is a copy of the “processing order email” or the “completed order email”?

The reason I am asking is because I am creating a FAQ for our website where I wanted to have these questions:
Question 1: I can’t find my order confirmation?
Answer: Look in the spam folder first, if you don’t find you can contact us and we will resend the order confirmation email.

    Question 2: I can’t find my receipt?
Answer: Look in the spam folder first, if you don’t find you can contact us and we will resend the receipt email.

    Hi there!

Yes, the “Email invoice/order details to customer” option can actually serve as a copy of either the Processing order email or the Completed order email, depending on the status of the order.

    • If the order is in the Processing status, the email sent will resemble the Processing order email (in your case, “Order confirmation”).
    • If the order is in the Completed status, the email sent will resemble the Completed order email (in your case, “Shipping confirmation/receipt”).

    For your FAQ section:

    1. Order Confirmation: You can advise your customers to check their spam/junk folders first. If they don’t find it, they can contact you, and you can resend the email while the order is in Processing status.
    2. Receipt: Customers can also contact you if they can’t locate their receipt, and you can resend the email once the order is in Completed status.

This should align with your use case and help your customers better understand the process! Let me know if you’d like me to clarify anything further. ??
