I’m trying to assess SureCart before purchase, and I’m trying to compare SureCart and Woocommerce using the Astra theme and Astra starter templates by creating two stores in staging environments.

When building a site from the “Brand Store” template and enabling Woo, the result is a fully functional shop with all links working and a Shop page with controls for product filtering. (I’m particularly interested in providing product filter controls by price, category, etc. I wouldn’t put up a shop in production without this basic functionality.)

When building the site from the same “Brand Store” template with SureCart, many menu and button links are not working because categories/collections were not specified in the template. I understand product filters have only just been introduced in v3? However it seems the only available filter is by category/collection and the design options for filters are very basic, with no controls other than a drop-down as far as I can see.

Is it possible to filter by price as well as category? Any plans to work further on the presentation of the Astra starter templates for SureCart shops?

    Hi There! Happy to help.

We do have filter/sort functionality on our shop pages. It’s totally possible to filter by price and category. Perhaps you don’t have any categories for your products yet? You will want to add collections, and you can see you can sort and filter. It might be easier to explain in a video:

Thank you for the quick response, much appreciated. I see the sort filter by price now, thanks. Are there other options for presenting the filters other than a drop-down? A slider, for example, that allows the user to specify a range of prices, or check boxes to add or exclude options, etc., such as you see in a standard woo shop.

And regarding Astra starter templates, are there any plans to fully build out the templates for SureCart shops?

Thank you for your inquiry and feedback!

Currently, SureCart includes a basic price sorting filter, but for more advanced filtering options like sliders to specify a price range, checkboxes for categories, or exclusions, you’ll need to create a custom shop page.

If you will use for example advanced page builders like Bricks Builder (or others) This can be achieved by integrating SureCart with tools like WP Grid Builder and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). These tools allow you to create highly customizable and advanced filtering systems, giving your customers a more dynamic shopping experience.

While we do plan to enhance filtering capabilities natively in the future, I don’t have a specific ETA to share at this time. Rest assured, feedback like yours is valuable and helps shape our development roadmap.

In the Astra Starter Templates built by the Astra team, when selecting an eCommerce design template, you can choose SureCart as your eCommerce plugin, and the template will be set up accordingly, you can reffer to this screenshot – https://app.screencast.com/ep3RjfvruH43v.

If you’re looking for additional features or options in the Astra theme specifically tailored for SureCart, we encourage you to reach out to my colleagues from the Astra team directly with your suggestions. You can contact them here: https://wpastra.com/contact/. Your feedback could help them enhance their templates for SureCart users in the future!

If there’s anything else you need assistance with, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!
