After we installed Hummingbird, icons all throughout the site stopped working. Even after disabling the Hummingbird plugin entirely, the icons still didn’t work and other plugins that had also been removed were still showing on the frontend.

Adding ?avoid-minify=true to the URL fixed the problem.

I’ve disabled the Caching > Page Caching – Local Page Cache setting for “Products” AND gone to Asset Optimization > Configurations > Files and unchecked CSS Files, JavaScript Files, and Fonts so they are NOT automatically optimized, cleared the cache, and none of that fixed it.

    Please help ??

    Hi @sr20detg20girl,

Sorry to hear about the issues noticed, however, it sounds like the issue with icons not loading might be due to Asset Optimization

However, the issue should have got resolved once you disable Asset Optimizaiton under Hummingbird > Asset Optimization > Settings or disable the Hummingbird plugin as a whole.

The behaviour where you notice icons still not working even after the Hummingbird plugin is disabled sounds like a server cache ie a cache from your hosting provider.

Adding ?avoid-minify=true to the URL fixed the problem.

The above URL will cause Asset Optimization to get disabled and also the cache to not work which isn’t specific to page cache in Hummingbird even server-side cache can get disabled, so hence it appears to work on your side.

Since you haven’t shared the page URL where you noticed the issue what we could check is limited, however, please do check whether you could clear the cache within the Hosting side and see if that helps.

If you are still looking to investigate the primary issue then please set setup a staging site and share its URL so that we can check further if needed.

    Kind Regards,

    Nithin
