I’ve noticed in my email log that there is an email that goes out to users after a password has been reset. This looks like a default WordPress template, but it’s not the same as the Password Changed – For User. There doesn’t appear to be a template for this email already in your free plugin, is there any chance that this one will be added to in the future or is this one included in an addon?

Here is the template that is being sent after a user resets their password from getting a password reset link email first.

    Subject: [global_site_title] Your new Password

    Content:

    [email_user_firstname],
Your password was successfully reset on [global_site_title]!

    Username: [email_user_login]
    Password: *** Successfully Reset ***

You can now login here: [shortcode for website login url]

I could not find any other information about this email template, so I may be mistaken that is a default wordpress email and it’s possible it may be triggered via another plugin. If so, you can disregard my request.

    Hi @joanlaura404,
    Thanks for your message.

    To clarify:
The ‘User Lost Password – For User’ notification is sent when a user requests a new password (or the admin send the email to the user manually).
The ‘Password Changed – For User’ notification is sent to the user, after they have changed their password successfully.

Let me know if this helps.

Yep, I’m seeing those two and have created custom templates for them, but I was also seeing a third that seemed to be triggered after a successful reset. I created other user notifications templates and set them to disabled. I’ve gone through ways a wordpress user can usually change their password and cannot seem to trigger this email again, so I’m gonna call it a glitch or fixed until I see it show up again.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi @joanlaura404,
No problem – let me know if you need any more help with this.

The email you are talking about is sent after the user clicks on the message to set a password. This link is sent to the user in the “account was created” email. When they set an password for the first time, the email you are talking about appears. I have the same issue as I can’t find this email to customize anywhere.

    Hi @manbearpig73,
Are you using WordPress Multisite or just the regular single-site version of WordPress?

It’s possible another plugin, such as a membership, sign-up form, or eCommerce plugin is adding another notification that BNFW can’t override – could this be the issue in your case?

I’m using WooCommers Memberships. However I have checked all it’s emails an non match up.

In my case, I have memberpress pro installed. They have many email templates that we have the ability to change and turn on/off but emails related to password resets are not one of them.

    Hi @joanlaura404 @manbearpig73
It’s most likely both of these plugins are overriding BNFW’s notificaiton and as such, it can’t override it correctly. BNFW can only override WordPress’s default notifications and not ones from plugins usually.
Both of those plugins should have separate templates or settings where you can override those notifications so it may be worth reaching out to those plugin authors to see if they can help with this notification in particular.
