Unresponsive Script error in edit/add post screen

we just upgraded from MU (2.9.?) to WP 3.0.2 and now we’re getting this error in the admin on edit or add post form screen:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
I’ve seen a couple threads about this but nothing there seems to apply here. I also deactivated all plugins but no luck.
Any clues?
