I have a live e-commerce site that sells physical products that are a variety of different weights depending on their category. I have the WooCommerce plugin installed as well as the WooCommerce Weight Based Plugin installed. With the Weight Based Plugin I was able to categorize the shipping weight to 3 different categories. However, it only works if the customer buys one product by itself. I need for the customer to be charged by the weight accurately if they buy a variety of products. So if they buy a vase and the shipping is set to $12 and then they buy a lighter item like a switch plate cover I need the shipping to gradually increase. Right now it’s not working that way. Is there anyway I configure it like this with both of these plugins I have?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Weight Based Shipping evaluates the shipping rules you defined based on the total order weight. If a vase and a lighter are in the cart, their total weight is checked against your rules.

Doesn’t it work this way for you? If so, could you bring these details?.

    Hi Dan,

Thank you for getting back to me. I appreciate it. I played around more with the sample orders and I see what you mean. I also see the shipping rate change if the order weight total passes a certain threshold. I have a few more questions regarding the plugin. They’re listed below:

    1. I also set it up where the customer gets free shipping if their total is $100 or more but that’s not working accurately either. Once the order is over $100 the “free shipping” option comes up. However, the standard shipping option comes up too. I want the “free shipping” to be the only option that appears once the total is $100 or more.

    2. I also want to set it up where they have an option to select standard shipping by the weight or priority shipping by the weight. The plugin only lets me configure one or the other not both options. When I try to do both they override each other.

    Thank you,

    Hi A’Ishah,

    1. If you set Order Subtotal of your regular shipping rules to “above 0, below $100”, they won’t be shown for orders above $100.

    2. Each shipping rule activated for an order is shown as a delivery option to the customer. You can quickly check that by adding two shipping rules in their default/empty state. They should be shown as two delivery options on checkout.
