How to Create a Download Page?

  • Hello WordPress Lovers!

    I want something like this:-

    A post having a link to a download page. Visitor clicks the link and the download page opens. After the page has loaded, the particular file automatically starts downloading after 3 seconds.

    Its like when you download something from cnet.downloads.com

    Any idea how can i do this on WordPress?

    I Googled and found this code:

    <meta
   content="3; URL="LINK TO THE FILE" />

    but its not working.

    I was disappointed to see that after 7 months no one replied to your post with the answer. Especially, now that I need to know how to create exactly this kind of page! Hehehe.
